Brett Smith was new to the RCHS staff last year. He is our Construction teacher as well as Building Facilities Maintenance. He teachers students of all abilities valuable life lessons that they can take beyond the classroom. Brett also started the RCHS Unified Track team last year. Thank you for all you do!

This group of teachers needs no introduction. We have THE best music department. T.R. and Heather Campbell are the dynamic duo that keeps our band program the best around and Dave Doyle is in charge of our choirs! Music is such an important part of a student's career and we are lucky to have these amazing individuals helping with our student's development. Thank you!

RCHS has a stellar Language Arts Department! We don't have any new teachers this year to the department, so we would like to recognize this team. We have Bryan Hummel, Hannah Lemmons, Keith Perin, Lindsay Tillison, Jennie Tague, and Jennifer Teague. Thank you for all you do!






Mrs. Gerrain has some new spirit wear items in the ROAR STORE! Reach out to Mrs. Gerrain if you have any questions. The newest spirit wear is a black long sleeve for $25.00 in sizes S-2XL & a red vintage tee for $20.00 in sizes S-2XL.

Rushville Consolidated High School is proud to recognize the 14 students who received a College Board National Recognition Award. These students took the PSAT/NMSQT last fall and scored in the top 10% of test takers from their award program in their state. You will find the students listed in the photos below along with their recognition program. Congratulations!


On Thursday, October 17, 2024, Elizabeth Moffett from the Commission of Higher Education will be here to explain the processes for financial aid, including filing the FAFSA, grants, loans, and other sources for making higher education possible.
Remember that it is now a state law that all seniors must file a FAFSA. As we approach the filing deadline of April 15, 2025, more information regarding the opt out process will become available.

We are highlighting the Social Studies Department! Kelley McDermott is a new member of the social studies department this year, but isn't new to RCHS (she covered Mrs. Sliger's maternity leave last year). We also have Jim Marlatt teaching Dual Credit courses to help students earn the ICC as well as Jeff Cox and Pat Haney teaching valuable courses for our students! Thank you!

Manufacturing Day 2024. 16 RCHS students learned more about TRANE, COPELAND, INTAT, and CORTEVA. Careers were a major emphasis and a thank you to Leslie Shaul, senior manager of workforce development for organizing the event.




Dr. Nathan Horn, a nutritionist for United Animal Health recently spoke to students about his position along with how to be successful in the workforce.

Mr. Grant Peters selected our head custodian, Mike Owens, as the Operations Staff Member of the Month. Mike goes above and beyond each and every day and advocates for his team members. RCHS has the best custodial team and much of that is contributed to Mike's leadership. Thank you for all you do! Congratulations!

At-Risk Counselor, Hannah Augsburger, was selected as the October Staff Member of the Month for RCHS. Hannah put together 'The Den' a room where students are able to go a "reset" their emotions and get back to class. She has the student's best interests at heart and we appreciate all she is doing for our student's mental health. Students commented that she is someone they feel comfortable talking to and how AWESOME she is! We agree! Congratulations!

We recognized Kyle Jacobs, a RCHS Junior, who was selected as the WCC Student of the month. He is in the Automotive Technology program and is an outstanding student who has become a standout in his class! Congratulations!

Senior Kemper Seitz is the RCHS student of the month for October. He was nominated by Coach Brown. Kemper volunteered to stay after his own football practice to help provide water for the opposing team. A theme in the comments from teachers were how respectful Kemper always is. We are so lucky to have him at RCHS! Congratulations!

With the incoming weather, Arlington Christian Church has postponed their festival until the 5th of October.

SPOTLIGHT! Jill Carmony is our FACS teacher. She also coordinates our cadet teaching program here at RCHS. She develops amazing relationships with her students and we are so lucky to have her here at RCHS.

SPOTLIGHT! Amy Fox came to RCHS last year and brought a wealth of knowledge and experience. She has started back up the radio station, The ROAR! We are so thankful to have Mrs. Fox at RCHS!
