Introducing myself, I am Julie Innis. Last year was my first year at Principal of Rushville Elementary West. Prior to this, I was Principal at Arlington Elementary School for 17 years. Prior to administration, I started my career in education teaching a variety of grades and positions at Rushville Elementary School.
My husband and I live on our family farm in southern Rush County. We are involved in grain and livestock farming. We have two grown children who both are attending college and involved in Agriculture related degrees.
This is the first year RES has been consolidated from two schools under one roof to one. Students and staff have been engaging in community building, practicing behavioral norms and expectations and collaborative learning. During this time we have blended staff, families and students to provide a family atmosphere where learning takes place collaboratively between staff and students. This year our staff created this vision: To provide a welcoming, happy, respectful and safe environment that supports all learners an encourages students to be life long learners.
