Lions Pride Preschool

Welcome to Lions Pride Preschool!

Lions Pride Preschool is proudly located at Rushville Elementary School in Rushville, Indiana. Our preschool program is grounded in the belief that high-quality early childhood education supports inclusive learning and helps all children grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

We believe young children learn best through a combination of observation, practice, modeling, and meaningful interactions with peers. Inclusive learning environments are essential, particularly for children with disabilities, as access to age-appropriate peer models supports social development, communication skills, and independence. At the same time, peer models develop compassion, empathy, and an appreciation for differences, and learn to accept and celebrate others within a supportive community!

Financial Aid

If you need tuition assistance, our licensed Preschool Program accepts CCDF vouchers and On-My-Way-PreK. This is an income-based program to help support families.

Create an account with Early Ed Connect.

To complete the application, the local eligibility office will need the required documents. Documents do not need to be submitted before the application, but can be uploaded at any point after clicking the green Upload New Documents button. You will be asked to provide:

  • Proof of identification for all adults in the household, and all children’s proof of birth and/or citizenship

  • Proof of income (pay stub dated within the last 60 days) and/or a school schedule for all adults in the household.

  • Proof of any other income received (SSI, unemployment, TANF, etc.)

  • Proof of Residency

Please Note: All qualifying families will be placed on a waiting list by CCDF until funds are available and then contacted and invited for Open Enrollment. You will be responsible for any tuition payments until you are approved and off the waiting list.

Transportation

Transportation is not provided by the school district for preschool students unless they hold an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and live in our school district. See our district’s special education transportation policy for more information.

Please Note: Only parents, guardians, or those listed as emergency contacts are authorized to pick up students from school. If there is an event that someone else needs to pick up a student, we must receive notice from the parent or guardian, and the individual will be required to present an ID.

Lions Pride preschool students are given snacks in the morning and afternoon, provided by our preschool program.

Full-day students will be able to purchase breakfast and lunch from the cafeteria. This information can be found on the Rush County Schools website.

Communication Expectations

At Lions Pride Preschool, we have a variety of ways we can communicate. Our school phone number is 765-938-1616. Email can be used for contacting the director, classroom teachers, or other staff members within the building. Teachers will communicate regularly with parents and families through the Rush County Schools app. Teachers will also send photos, messages, announcements, and updates through the app. We will also send weekly parent messages indicating the focus skills in the classroom and a classroom newsletter. Assessments will be sent home each quarter.

Health Information

A copy of immunization records will be required. Please provide a copy of these to the front office upon enrollment.

We have a school nurse on site at Rushville Elementary School that our Lions Pride preschool students may utilize if needed. If your child has a life-threatening allergy, asthma, seizure disorder, or other health condition requiring medication or a health action plan, parents should inform the director, classroom teacher, and school nurse before beginning school.
