Rushville Consolidated High School Recieves Indiana Purple Star School Designation

Rushville Consolidated High School is proud to share that we have been named an Indiana Purple Star School! This honor celebrates our school’s dedication to supporting service members, veterans, and the students and families who are connected to our nation’s military.

Being recognized as a Purple Star School is about more than a certificate or a title; it reflects the heart of our community. At RCHS, we understand that military families make tremendous sacrifices. When one person serves, their entire family serves alongside them. Children may experience long separations, frequent moves, and the uncertainty that comes with a loved one defending our country. That’s why creating a supportive, welcoming school environment is so important.

Veterans and active-duty service members have given so much to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day. Honoring them means acknowledging their courage, resilience, and dedication. Supporting their families means helping their children thrive in school, feel understood, and know they are not alone. By standing beside these students, we show gratitude not only for their parents’ service but also for the unique strength and perspective they bring to our school community.

As part of this recognition, RCHS received an official certificate signed by Governor Mike Braun, Secretary of Education Katie Jenner, and Brigadier General Lawrence Muennich. This certificate will be proudly displayed in our building as a reminder of the values we uphold: respect, service, community, and care for one another.

We are incredibly grateful to our staff, students, and families whose kindness and hard work make RCHS a place where every student and military-connected family feels supported. This achievement reflects the compassion and spirit of our school. We would also like to thank all of the veterans in our community and their families for their sacrifices on behalf of RCHS!
