New Student Registration Information

New BRMS enrollments are processed by appointment. Parents of transferring students need to call 765-932-2968 ext/225 to schedule an appointment for registration. 7th and 8th grade registration paperwork may be obtained through the BRMS front office during the hours of 7:30 am-4:00 pm. New student enrollment is by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling (765) 932-2968 ext/225.
Please bring the following documents to your enrollment appointment:
- Student birth certificate (or copy)
- Proof of Rush County residency (housing title or lease, utility bill, driver's license, etc.)-only one document necessary
- Guardianship/Custody paperwork (if applicable)
- Most current ILearn scores (if Indiana resident-if coming from out of state, scores from state equalivancy test and the student's transcripts or last report card are sufficient)
- Student's last report card and/or current school schedule
- Emergency contacts (names and phone numbers)
- Fully completed registration paperwork
- Language Arts 7 or Advanced Language Arts 7 (placement based upon 6th grade standardized NWEA-ILearn test scores)
- Math 7 or Pre-Algebra 7(placement based upon 6th grade standardized NWEA-ILearn test scores,
- Science 7
- Social Studies 7
- Health7/PE 7 (1 semester each)
- Visual Art /Digital Citizenship (1 semester each)
- Music elective: Instrumental Music (year)/ Choral Music (year)/ Exploring Music/Study (1 semester EM, 1 semester Study)
- Language Arts 8 or Advanced Language Arts 8 (placement based upon 7th grade standardized NEWA-ILearn test scores)
- Pre-Algebra 8 or Algebra (placement based upon 7th grade standardized NWEA-ILearn test scores
- Science 8
- Social Studies 8
- PE 8Health/ 8 (1 semseter each)
- Family And Consumer Science/Exploring College and Careers (1 semester each)
- Music/Study hall elective/Intro to Ag: Instrumental Music (year)/ Choral Music (year)/ Study (year)/ Ag (year)
Due to scheduling constraints, Benjamin Rush Middle School students are not given the opportunity to choose particular teachers, class or lunch periods, etc.
