Important Reminders

An Important Safety Reminder: Students who walk, ride bikes, or participate on an athletic team should not leave until Group D is called. Students leaving before Group D is called creates a safety issue when crossing at 16th Street prior to Group B buses clearing the area. Students in group D leaving on an earlier dismissal will be subject to disciplinary action. Students walking south on Sexton Street must use the crosswalks when crossing at the Sexton Street and 16th Street intersection. Crossing diagonally at this intersection creates a very unsafe situation. Again, students not crossing the intersection in a safe manner will be subject to disciplinary action.

Study Table:  Study Table is available to all students who need help with homework or who would like a quiet place to study. Study Table is held from 3:20 to 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday each week and is supervised by a BRMS teacher. A study table is also available to students from 2:38 to 3:15 p.m. each Wednesday. This study table is held in the cafeteria and is supervised by BRMS aides. Check with Mrs. Mahan at the red desk for locations.  Students are able to get materials from their lockers and use computers to research, type or complete assignments.  Attendance is voluntary.
Chromebook Help: You can find answers to many of your questions about your Chromebook and how to use it offline in the Team Drive. This folder is located directly under your Drive folder. You can also find it at https://drive.google.com/drive/team-drives.
Agendas and Grades:  We encourage you as a parent to play an active role in your child's education.  Ways to do this include checking your child's agenda frequently, as well as tracking your child's daily progress online.  The agenda and online postings are used as communication tools between home and school.

School Hours & Parking Lot Etiquette:  The school day begins at 8:10a.m. and ends at 3:13p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; the school day ends at 2:35p.m. on Wednesday.  The doors will be opened at 7:50a.m. each morning.  Students are not to be dropped off prior to 7:50a.m. on any day.  School supervision does not begin until 7:50a.m.

Parents may not pull into the parking lot area (where the buses park) at the end of the school day to pick up their child behind on the school buses.  Students must not walk between the buses to get into a car.  Anyone picking up a student should pick up the student on the circle driveway.  Please do not park on the circle as this blocks the drive.  If there is not room on the circle drive, you will have to wait in line on Sexton Street and proceed to the circle drive as space permits, so the student does not have to cross traffic to get into a vehicle.

Please make appropriate drop off and pick up arrangements for your child prior to the start of the school year.  Thank you for your cooperation when dropping off or picking up your child.

A Note Regarding Attendance:  In order to receive the maximum benefits from the educational process, regular school attendance is required. However, if a student must be absent from school, please remember to call the school before 10:00 A.M. on the day of your student's absence. Homework may be requested at this time and can be picked up at the front desk between 3:00 and 4:00 P.M.
